A New Year....A Green Year!

Fáilte ar ais to everyone. We hope everyone enjoyed Christmas and that all all the paper, plastic, packaging etc. were put in the correct bins!
Remember the 3 R's: Reduce-Reuse-Recycle.
In December we sent 65 mobile phones off to be recycled. This generated €195 for Trócaire. To read about the great work trocaire do, log on to www.trocaire.ie

Our battery collection box is also full to the brim and due to be emptied this week. We haven't counted the batteries, but we know that are a few hundred batteries in there! It is great that all these batteries are being recycled, as batteries should never go to landfill, due to their toxic ingredients.

GREEN CHRISTMAS

Did you know that

• 45 million drink bottels,


• 25 million cardbord toyboxes,


• 4 million sweet boxes

will be used in Ireland this Christmas. Scoil San Phroinsias have thought of ways to be green and to recycle this Christmas. These are some of our ideas.

The 1st and 2nd classes are setting a good example for the other classes.

Well done to Ms. Farrelly's 6th class for all the litter picking they did today. We wish they hadn't found quite so much litter.....what could we do about that I wonder?!

Really Rapping!

The Coiste Glas would like every class to learn the rap which Adam Forde composed. Have some fun with your class....and your teacher.....adding your own music and rhythm to the rap. Be creative!! Maybe you can add another verse to Adam's rap? If you think you can, let your coiste glas representative know.
